Samira Hashemi Is an interediciplinary Artist, Curator and educator based in Isfahan, Iran. She is the co-founder and co-director of Va Space and residency, an independent art space and residency in Isfahan, Iran. She was the curator of "Shared Studios Portal" in Isfahan, Iran, whose headquartet is based in New York. She was co-director and curator of CC Art space in Isfahan/ Iran from 2016 to early 2017. Samira was also a visiting lecturer at sepehr Art University in Isfahan from 2014-2017. She received her MFA in New Geners from San Francisco Art Institute (CA) and Bachelore's of Fine Arts from BIrmingham City University(UK). Hashemi started off as an artist and soon began to explore curatorial practice. Her recent curatorial projects include "Unfailing memory" at Alter Wihrebahnhof gallery space Freiburg (2015), "Palas" at Supermarket Art Fair, Stockholm (2016),and "Structured Frustrations" at CC Isfahan(2017), "Possible Worlds" at Kunsthahh Potsdam. She is an awardee of Fellowship for Curatorial Program for Reserach: Baltic Sea 2017, as well as Mondriaan Foundation orientation tripfor Iranian and Armenian urators, 2017. She is also recipient of funds from Lisbon City Council/2015, Swedish Institute 2017, Artist contact from Ifa, Germany/ 2014
